Arizona Trail

Has anyone here hiked sections of the Arizona Trail? My hubby (Chris) wants to do a 3 day solo hike (somewhere in northern az) and he is considering the Az trail...maybe where it pics up in Prescott. He's going to head out next Tuesday (31st).

Other suggestions for a nice 3 day solo backpack trip are welcome too. Chris's ankle is bad...so the hiking needs to be easy to moderate.

    To the best of my knowledge, the entire trail is not complete. I've hiked sections near Payson, in the Catalinas and in the Huachucas.
    For an easier hike, I'd say stay north of the Rim, or maybe through the Mazatzal Mountains. I've never been on it, but it looks like fairly level terrian.
